General French

Course overview

Our courses are organised into sessions at different levels. (extensive, semi-intensive and intensive). The teaching of French in the National Centre for Modern Languages is designed according to the European Framework of Reference for Languages (CEFR).

Students will learn how to communicate with each other using our French language activities. These activities fall under the categories:

  • Reception: listening and reading
  • Production: speaking and writing
  • Interaction: take part in a conversation with another student.

Textbooks

The textbooks used are chosen from the available collection of French Foreign Language Methods (FLE) and French for Specific Objectives (FOS) series, designed by French publishing houses specialised in this field and listed by the International Centre of Pedagogical Studies (CIEP) in France.
